Sereno IS progressive lenses provides a comfortable wearing sensation with the design concept of smooth and wide. The far vision is designed to feel more comfortable and wider by understanding the static field of the human eye by using ergonomic human eye analysis.

Sereno IS was designed with consideration for "seeing with natural eye movement" and "making it easy to see within the natural visible range".

Evolution of a comfortable & wide far vision field

Further comfortableness and wide far vision is achieved as the result of combining the new Maximum Clearly Method and the ergonomic human analysis of the PM design.

Sereno IS has 20% wider far vision field and 10% wider clear vision field, making frequent shifts of gaze between far and near distances even smoother.

By using a new method, Maximum Clearly, that adds a progressive surface and a progressive correction aspheric lens to an ideal aspheric lens that prioritizes appearance, we have achieved a clear field of vision that is as close as possible to that of a single vision lens.

The far vision is designed to feel more comfortable and wider. By acquiring the static field of the humans' eye by using ergonomic eye analysis, we were able to design the lens such that the astigmatism is minimized in this 30mm area, which is most likely used when looking far naturally.

This equates to an area of 30mm around the eye point of a lens and equals the real vision field for natural far vision. By adapting the inset according to the appropriate parameters and by optimising the front curve to each eye, the vision field is even more comfortable.

Smooth eye movement in the intermediate zone

The smooth eye movement is created by a well controlled transitioning of addition power. From the 20 degree angle of the natural eye movement based on the ergonomic human eye analysis, we applied the most sufficient addition power at 9mm below the eye point.

A stable & wide near vision field

The positioning of the progressive corridor will be designed for each individual. The inset can be specified from 0.0mm to 5.0mm at a 0.1mm step, and / or reading distance of up to 80cm. The perfect near vision can be obtained with this customizable capability.
