What’s HEV?

You may notice that your eyes feel sore and tired after a long day of work on your computer or cell phone. This is because of the blue light emitted by digital devices, also known as High Energy Visible (HEV) light. Not only sunlight, but also the light emitted from digital devices include HEV light.

UV and LED lights are ubiquitous in our daily lives. They are present in sunlight, car headlights, PC monitors, smartphones, tablets, and more.
Recent studies have shown that shorter wavelength light ranging from 400-420nm can also damage the retina, which is the most vulnerable tissue of the eye.
